There is also a safety aspect to the Dtronic as it will certainly assist with quicker overtaking times and offer more torque in reserve when a vehicle is laden or towing so that less time needs to be spent on the wrong side of the road.
In the final wash-up, we’ve got to say that the Dtronic works. It is not just a hot chip that feeds more fuel to the injectors, it also tells the injection system when and where to put it.
It does give a significant boost to performance, especially down low, and it doesn’t cost the earth. You can have the Dtronic fitted for $1,495 and it’s transportable from vehicle to vehicle (as long as they have the same engine of course).
The only downside is that it is only suitable to later-model electronic controlled fuel systems and is not compatible with vehicles fitted with mechanical injection pumps.
