Thanks for the opportunity to test the new DTronic Computer.

This unit was fitted to my 3Litre G.D.Patrol, and given a severe workout over a period of five days, encompassing on road and off road situations and covering some 500ks.

Immediately noticeable on the blacktop was the effect of having two more pots under the bonnet. Acceleration and torque was pronounced from 1200RPM and continued throughout the rev range.

Overtaking was much easier with the added power on tap and effortless.

On a particular road North of Yarraglen which had always shown a drop off in speed of 10 to 15 k an hour, on this and other occasions whilst the DTronic was fitted no drop in speed occurred.

Offroad, steep inclines which previously had to be negotiated in low first could now be achieved in high first with ample torque being available should the need arise.

Fuel usage to the best of my knowledge has decreased, though arguably this will depend on the extent with which you use the right foot. There was no discernable exhaust smoke at any time throughout the time the unit was fitted.
