With already impressive performance in standard form, the Intercooled Turbo Diesel Rodeo can at times be lacking in punch. When heavily loaded or towing, the lack of torque is even more pronounced - necessitating higher engine revs in a lower gear - and poor fuel economy.

By making fine adjustments to the EFI strategy - particularly to the injection timing settings, significant gains are made with Dtronic across the entire RPM range.

As can be seen from the dynamometer chart above, Dtronic delivers an outstanding improvement in engine performance right from 1,000 RPM all the way through to peak engine revs.

In order to produce these outstanding results, accurate injection timing control through the Dtronic computer is an essential function.

Accurate injection timing control is also critical not only for the best possible fuel consumption, but also to control peak exhaust gas temperatures for optimum durability.

The Dtronic computer can be simply unplugged at any time - thus returning the vehicle back to factory ECU control.
