Mitsubishi Pajero equipped with Turbo 3.2 L Di-D Engine
Open glovebox and slide plastic retainer stops down to unclip.
Open glovebox fully and push base upwards to unclip hinges.
Locate lower plastic tray under glovebox.
Carefully unscrew plastic screw at rear of plastic tray.
Unscrew two screws at front of lower tray and Remove tray.
Locate the Factory Engine Control Unit (ECU). This is a dark box located above and to the left of the passenger side footwell. The factory Engine Control Unit has four plugs as shown.
Carefully unplug the two factory Engine Control Unit plugs closest to the front of the vehicle by depressing the plug locking tab and gently pulling on connector body, NOT wiring.
Carefully plug both factory style connectors from the Safari Dtronic Loom Adaptor into the factory Engine Control Unit.
Carefully plug both factory connectors, into the Safari Dtronic loom adaptor.
Remove Philips head screw shown. This will be used to mount Safari Dtronic Computer.
Plug the small, non-factory connector coming out of the Safari Dtronic Loom Adaptor, into the Safari Dtronic Computer.
Mount the Safari Dtronic computer in the position shown and affix with Philips head screw removed previously.
Start engine. Ensure engine runs smoothly and without causing the check engine light on the dashboard to illuminate.
Re-fit lower plastic tray and glove box
CAUTION: Ensure that all wires are protected and well clear of all potentially damaging sharp objects.
Note: To remove Safari Dtronic and return the engine back to factory computer control, follow the reverse order of instructions above. The engine will not run with the Safari Dtronic plug removed.
