INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

SAFARI DTRONIC - SD16 MODEL

TO SUIT:

Nissan Patrol equipped with Factory Intercooled Turbo ZD30-TEI Engine

Completed Safari Dtronic installation

1. Locate the factory Engine Control Unit (ECU) behind the centre console, under dashboard. Access is from driver’s side.

The factory ECU is a silver box with one electrical connector plugged in at one end. The connector is held in place by a 10mm bolt in the centre of the connector.

2. Unplug factory connector from the ECU by loosening 10mm bolt (anticlockwise). Gently pull on the connector body, NOT WIRING.

3. Plug factory connector into the SAFARI DTRONIC LOOM ADAPTOR. Tighten 10mm bolt carefully. Do Not Over Tighten.

4. Plug factory style connector from the SAFARI DTRONIC LOOM ADAPTOR into the factory ECU. Tighten 10mm bolt carefully. Do Not Over Tighten.

5. Carefully slide SAFARI DTRONIC LOOM ADAPTOR under heater box / on top of transmission tunnel.

6. Remove the adhesive protection backing from one piece of the supplied Velcro strip and fasten to the heater box, from the left hand side. Fasten the other piece of Velcro to the SAFARI DTRONIC COMPUTER.

7. Plug the small, non-factory connector (DTRONIC Plug) coming out of the SAFARI DTRONIC LOOM ADAPTOR into the SAFARI DTRONIC COMPUTER.

8. Mount SAFARI DTRONIC COMPUTER to factory ECU.

9. Start the engine and ensure it runs smoothly and without causing the check engine light on the dashboard to illuminate.

CAUTION: Ensure that all wires are protected and well clear of all potentially damaging sharp objects.

Note: To remove Safari Dtronic and return the engine back to factory computer control, follow the reverse order of instructions above. The engine will not run with the Safari Dtronic plug removed.
