INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

SAFARI DTRONIC - SD-120 MODEL

TO SUIT:

Hilux Turbo Diesel equipped with Factory Intercooled Turbo D4D Engine (Apr 2005 onwards)

1	Remove glove box door by opening, then lift upwards to release hinges.
2	Locate the Factory Engine Control Unit (ECU). This is a silver box with four multiple wire electrical connectors, plugged in at one end.
3	Unplug top and bottom factory connectors on the factory ECU loom from the factory ECU by depressing the connector lock tab and gently pulling on connector body, (DO NOT pull wiring).
4	Insert factory ECU connectors into Safari DTRONIC Loom Adaptor (connectors are unique and cannot be inserted into the incorrect receptacle).
5	Insert DTRONIC loom plugs into factory ECU (connectors are unique and cannot be inserted into the incorrect receptacle).
6	Gently insert DTRONIC Loom Adaptor into space between the factory ECU and the heater box.
7	Apply Velcro sheet supplied to back face of DTRONIC Computer
8	Apply Velcro sheet supplied to LH face of Factory Control Box shown right.
9	Gently press DTRONIC computer back face onto Factory Control Box to affix.
10	Plug DTRONIC Loom into DTRONIC computer.
11	Unplug green factory plug, route DTRONIC loom adaptor looms under factory loom as shown right and plug green factory plug back in.
12	Install cable tie around DTRONIC loom as shown right.
13	Ensure that all wires are protected and well clear of all potentially damaging sharp edges.
14	Refit glove box.
15	Start the engine and ensure it runs smoothly and without causing the check engine light on the dashboard to illuminate.
16	Re-fit the liner and glove box assembly

CAUTION: Ensure that all wires are protected and well clear of all potentially damaging sharp objects.

Note: To remove Safari Dtronic and return the engine back to factory computer control, follow the reverse order of instructions above. Engine will not run with the Safari Dtronic plug removed.
