With already impressive performance in standard form, the Intercooled Turbo Diesel Landcruiser can at times be lacking in low RPM punch. When heavily loaded or towing, the lack of torque is even more pronounced - necessitating higher engine revs in a lower gear - and poor fuel economy.
By making fine adjustments to the EFI strategy - particularly to the injection timing settings, significant gains are made with Dtronic across the entire RPM range.
Right from 1,000 rpm, Dtronic boosts the engine torque by an outstanding 23% - 95 Nm higher than the standard engine's peak output!
When the going gets tough, Dtronic delivers more. As can be seen from the table below, Dtronic provides an additional 95 Nm of torque at 2,000 RPM for an outstanding total of 525 Nm and an equally impressive boost of 22 kW at 3,600 RPM for a peak power figure of 173 kW.
