INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

SAFARI DTRONIC - SD86 MODEL

TO SUIT:

Landcruiser 100 Series equipped with Factory Intercooled Turbo 1HD-FTE Engine - 11/10/2002 model onwards

Remove the two self-tapping screws that mount the glove box hinges and remove glove box. Remove the three self-tapping screws that retain the liner and remove same.
Locate the Factory Engine Control Unit (ECU). This is a silver box with four multiple wire electrical connectors, plugged in at one end.
Unplug all four unique factory connectors on the factory ECU loom from the factory ECU, by depressing the connector lock tab and gently pulling on connector body, NOT wiring.
Using a hacksaw blade, remove plastic clip/tabs from heater box.
Plug all four-factory connectors, carefully and in the same order as they are in the factory ECU into the Safari Dtronic loom adaptor.
Plug all four-factory style connectors from the Safari Dtronic loom adaptor into the factory ECU in the same order as the factory connectors.
Carefully install the Safari Dtronic loom adaptor beside the factory ECU. Ensure that the upper two Dtronic looms are routed above the Dtronic loom adaptor and the lower two looms are routed below.
Trim glovebox liner ribs to fit Dtronic Computer.
Plug the small, non-factory connector coming out of the Safari Dtronic loom adaptor, into the Safari Dtronic Computer.
Cable-tie Dtronic Computer to the glovebox liner.
Start the engine and ensure it runs smoothly and without causing the check engine light on the dashboard to illuminate.
Re-fit the liner and glove box assembly.

CAUTION: Ensure that all wires are protected and well clear of all potentially damaging sharp objects.

Note: To remove Safari Dtronic and return the engine back to factory computer control, follow the reverse order of instructions above. The engine will not run with the Safari Dtronic plug removed.
