| 1 | Disconnect :
Remove:
|
| 2 | Tape the template to the upper rear corner of the left hand guard. Using a felt tip pen, mark all hole positions, remove template. |
| 3 | Drill a pilot hole for each hole position, using the 89mm holesaw, drill the 2 main hole positions, mark a straight line top and bottom of the holes. Using the air hacksaw, cut away the remaining pieces of the panel between the 2 holes. Using the step drill, drill the 5 snorkel body mounting hole positions to 16mm. De-burr and paint all holes. |
| 4 | Screw the 5 mounting studs into the snorkel body inserts, fasten the upper mounting bracket to the snorkel body using necessary hardware. Carefully position the snorkel body onto the guard. With the snorkel body correctly positioned onto the guard, mark the 4 mounting bracket hole positions on the 'A' pillar (be sure to leave enough clearance between the bottom edge of the mounting bracket and the channel for the weather strip to be re-fitted correctly). Remove the snorkel body. |
| 5 | Drill the 4 mounting hole positions to 5.0mm (13/64"). De-burr and paint holes. Apply a liberal amount of Sikaflex 227 adhesive sealant to the back of the bracket, position the bracket on the 'A' pillar and fasten using 5.0mm x 12mm pop rivet (Item No. 10), clean up any excess Sikaflex to ensure a neat job. |
| 6 | Re-fit weather strip moulding, using a sharp knife cut away the section of the mould to fit around the upper mounting bracket (refer to drawing). |
| 7 | Install the air intake grill bracket to the air intake grill using necessary hardware, install the air intake grill to snorkel body air intake opening, using self taper screws (Item No. 4). |
| 8 | Battery/Air Cleaner Mounting Assembly:
Mark the sections of the battery/air cleaner mounting assembly which are required to be removed (refer to drawing), using the air hacksaw cut away the marked sections. Position the battery box blank-off plate into position, with the plate correctly positioned, mark the 6 hole positions, drill the 6 marked hole positions to 4.0mm (11/64”). Fasten the blank-off plate into position using 4.0mm x 12 mm pop rivet (Item No.15) |
| 9 | Air Cleaner Housing:
Measure down 45.0mm from the air cleaner housing lip, grind away the external ribs of the air cleaner housing (refer to drawing). Position the air entry adaptor onto the air cleaner housing, with the adaptor correctly positioned onto the air cleaner housing, mark out the new air cleaner housing air intake hole position, mark the 7 adaptor mounting hole positions. Remove the adaptor, using the air hacksaw cut the new air entry hole in the air cleaner housing. Drill the 7 marked hole positions on the air cleaner housing to 4.0mm (11/64”). |
| 10 | Position the air cleaner housing blank-off plates (Item Nos. 16 & 17) on the inside of the air cleaner housing with the blank-off plates in position mark all the hole positions of each blank-off plate. Using the 90° drill, drill a 4.0mm (11/64”) hole for each marked hole position. |
| 11 | Apply a liberal amount of Sikaflex 227 adhesive sealant to each of the blank-off plates, fasten each of the blank-off plates to the air cleaner housing using 4.0mm x 12mm pop rivet (Item No. 15). Clean up any excess Sikaflex to ensure a neat job. |
| 12 | Apply a liberal amount of Sikaflex 227 adhesive sealant to the air entry adaptor, fasten the adaptor to the air cleaner housing using 4.0mm x 12 pop rivet (Item No. 15), clean up any excess Sikaflex to ensure a neat job. |
| 13 | Check the fitment of the air cleaner housing to the battery/air cleaner mounting assembly, ensure the air cleaner housing fits back into position correctly, removing more material off the mounting assembly if required. |
| 14 | Install the battery box relocation bracket (Item No. 19) into position using necessary hardware, with the bracket fastened into position, install the battery/air cleaner mounting bracket to the new mounting position, fasten to the bracket using the standard fasteners, install the 2 plastic spacers (Item No. 21) into position, using necessary hardware fasten to the body. |
| 15 | Install the air cleaner housing into position and fasten to the mounting bracket, apply a liberal amount of Sikaflex 227 adhesive sealant to the air entry adaptor and the snorkel body snout to ensure a watertight connection between the snorkel body snout and air entry adaptor is achieved. |
| 16 | Position the snorkel body onto the guard guiding the snorkel body snout into the air entry adaptor. With the snorkel body correctly positioned, fasten to the guard using necessary hardware, fasten the snorkel body to the upper mounting bracket. |
| 17 | Using an inspection mirror, check the connection between snorkel body snout and the air entry adaptor, applying more sealant if required, clean up any excess Sikaflex to ensure a neat job. |
| 18 | Re-connect the air temperature sensor plug to the air temperature sensor, re-install air cleaner element and air cleaner housing lid, install left hand side battery, re-connect left and right hand side batteries. |
| 19 | Re-install the inner guard liner. |
