| SNORKEL BODY ASSEMBLY: |
| 1 |
Remove snorkel body from packaging. |
| 2 |
Position air intake grill (Item No. 21) over the snorkel body inlet hole. |
| 3 |
With air intake grill correctly positioned, fasten using self taper screws (Item No. 22). |
|
| 1 |
Remove:
- Air Cleaner Assembly and plastic ducting.
- Left Hand Front Wheel Arch Liner.
- Indicator light nody.
|
| 2 |
Tape the template in position, on the rear edge of the left hand guard. Using a felt pen mark the hole position. To mark the hole centre, unscrew the arbour from the holesaw and hold the holesaw in position and mark through the centre. Remove the template. |
| 3 |
Bolt the guide fixture into position in the left hand front corner of the engine bay, using the factory holes as shown in the diagram. Mark the inner hole centre, using the 3rd hole in the fixture. Remove the guide fixture. |
| 4 |
Cut both inner and outer holes to 89mm using a holesaw. The drill should be held in a horizontal position (parallel to the ground) while cutting these holes. Tape the top of the door frame and the edge of the roof to prevent damage. Sit the snorkel body on the vehicle and mark the 2 lower bolt holes. Remove the snorkel and drill the holes to 9.5mm. Deburr all the lower holes. |
| 5 |
Bolt the upper mounting bracket to the snorkel body using three 6mm x 12mm bolts and washers. Position the inner duct in the upper wheelarch cavity. Sit the snorkel body in place and slide the long 8mm bolts through the holes in both ducts. Mark the upper mounting hole positions on the roof, then remove the snorkel and duct. |
| 6 |
Drill the upper mounting holes to 9.5mm.
N.B: You will have to drill through both the outer and inner panel to allow depth for the rivnuts. Paint all holes to prevent rust.
|
| 7 |
Use the rivnut installer to insert the rivnuts into the upper holes. Place a ring of rubber edging around the inner hole. Use a smear of silicone on the upper bracket to adhere the gasket to the bracket. A small amount of superglue can be used around the top of the rivnuts to ensure they don't spin during the installation. |
| 8 |
Slide the inner duct into the upper wheelarch cavity, then sit the outer body in position. Bolt the upper bracket to the rivnuts loosely. Slide the long 8mm bolts through the snorkel and inner duct holes (The longer bolt is for the front hole). Place a washer and NYLOC nut on the bolts and clamp the ducts together. Do not overtighten. Then tighten the upper bolts. |
| 9 |
Sit the connecting duct in position with a clamp at each end, then refit the air cleaner assembly. We recommend all joints be sealed with silicone to ensure a waterproof seal. Hold the inner duct in position and tighten the clamps. |
| 10 |
When the ducts are sitting correctly, bolt the lower mounting bracket onto the inner duct and secure to the radiator support panel using 4mm pop-rivets. |
| 11 |
Refit the indicator assembly and wheelarch liner. |
| WARNING: IT IS THE INSTALLERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE ALL CONNECTIONS ARE WATER TIGHT |
